“One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching.” - unknown

Since arriving in Prague, I cannot seem to stop listening [almost exclusively] to Radiohead, Coldplay, Feist and David Gray. They are my constant soundtrack spinning through my head throughout my daily travels. Lucky for me, Radiohead was here in August or was it Sept? [time challenged] and friends and I got to see them; absolutely amaZing show ! I’m actually listening to the ‘In Rainbows’ album as I type.

When I’m listening to my ipod on the metro, I love when the music synchronizes with the unique wire designs caused by the motion outside of the train – it’s extremely challenging to describe logically, so, actually, this video is a perfect example of what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCpVSTJTc3I

When music and life simultaneously synch – that to me, is steller.

I think I'd be so cool if I could just play back a video of everything I’ve experienced with soundtrack to friends and family once I got home so that I could share a true depiction of what it’s been like.  It's terribly difficult, well impossible actually, to capture the true essence of exactly what occurs everyday; there are so many emotions, events, conversations, glances, funny euro mullets, little weird things I notice, culture differences, exchanges of laughter, etc that I simply cannot snap shot and describe accurately or entirely for that matter. So instead, I’ll just blog.

Sometimes life feels like it's on fast-forward and other times on rewind - or even pause. TEFL hit the fast-forward harrrd for those first 4 weeks…!!!!  Haha..life continues to fast-forward with slight pauses every now and then. Been interviewing and sending out CV’s like mad since the course has ended with high hopes of getting a full time position teaching English.

It seems pretty insane, but I’m finally just starting to settle in here. For the first month in Prague, I was staying in a flat with 3 other girls – all from the States [NC, SC, CA] on Bubenska Street in Vltavska – Praha 7. The roommates [Anneliese and Anna] that wanted to stay in the flat had to renew the contract through the school with the certainty of 4 people staying, and well, being in almost constant question of staying or leaving forced me not to renew my contract. My mind would change if not daily, then hourly – no exaggeration. I’d sit on my balcony with ipod on shuffle and thoughts/worries/ideas flooding my mind and depending on how I felt that day, my plans would conincidingly change. It would be incredibly safe to say that I was [am?] the most indecisive person in life. Friends and family picked up on this trend and would ask regularly ‘So, what’s the story today? Staying? Leaving?’, and they’d actually expect changing responses. Haha. But, as you may realize, living in a different country is a pretty significant decision.

Lindsay, a roommate I’m particularly fond of, decided on staying too, and so the story begins. Being in limbo of interviewing and viewing flats, Lindsay and I had to leave the Bubenska flat – our time had run out – not having a place to go, our dear friend, Jane was so sweet to let us stay as we ran in circles viewing a million flats and finally finding one. We stayed with Jane for one week and just two days ago [Sept. 17th], Lindsay and I moved into our own flat, which is located in Stare Mesto [Old Town] – Praha 1. This location couldn’t be better…we’re in the heart of the city in a nice quiet neighborhood with the Vltava River just across the street and the Charles Bridge only a 10 minute walk away. The building is extremely secure - very Fort Knox-esque; we have like 4 or 5 locks on our entry door. This building was built around 1800s by Jewish fur trade merchants. Pretty awesome; please view attached photos for shots of the hood and flat.

Let’s do this again soon.

::signing off::
